Kolon Sport

Hartung Paris helped the Korean brand Kolon Sport to reshape and modernise the design of their Antartica down jacket line which is one of the star product of the brand. As a matter of fact,  the brand was originally developed for polar exploration at the Korea Antarctic Research Institute.

The Antartica line’s jackets are designed to withstand extreme temperatures and environments. We managed to clean out the design lines to make these jackets more contemporary and wearable on a daily basis.

DISCIPLINE OF EXPERTISE:

Produkt-Design

Innovation and Sustainability

Creative and Artistic Direction

We were able to envision a capsule collection centered on innovation and circular product development by combining our complementary expertises.

This Kolon Sport's capsule collection is built upon sustainability and innovation principles.

Nylon-6 Mono material downjacket

We changed the narrative of the new line, from exploring the Antarctica to protecting it. The new silhouettes keep their high efficiency to withstand extreme temperatures, and introduce a recyclable item, following Cradle to Cradle principles

We have taken up the challenge of developing a mono material model, every component of the jacket is made of one unique material: Nylon 6. This mono material jacket is therefore fully recyclable as part of Kolon Sport’s efforts to reduce its environmental impact and pushing for a circular future.

Thermochromic colour changing fabric's down jacket

We have developed a goose-down parka model using thermochromic colour changing fabric.
This garment is printed with the Kolon Sport’s exclusively designed pattern representing Antarctic. When exposed to temperatures under 10°, the jacket is turning into a darker colour.
Perfect windproof function associated with temperature responsive material perfectly embodies embodies the symbol of climate change, revealing Antartica landscape if the
temperature is unusually warm.
